PugWords 2015

Welcome to PugWords 2015!! PugWords is a write-and-read-a-thon that benefits pug rescue charities and nonprofits. PugWords 2015 kicks off October 12, and lasts for the entire week of National Pug Day on October 15.

How PugWords Works For Writers

If you love to write, have a few ideas, or just want to support a great cause, participating in the PugWords writer program can be a great way to have fun and help out. PugWords pledge forms for writers and readers will be available soon. Participants can collect pledges for words written, and flat pledges are accepted too. Then on October 12, it all begins! Sit down and write a short story (or a couple) in 7 days. We'll keep the blog updated with writing prompts and challenges, as well as work submitted by participants. Feel free to send your stories to our team at pugwords@gmail.com. Make sure to check your word count frequently. Then on October 19, after PugWords comes to a close, tally your word count and collect your pledges! Make sure to send your pledge money in by November 5th so we can include you in our total and recognize you as an all around awesome person. More information on how to send in pledge money will be up on the blog soon.

How PugWords Works For Readers

If your not much of a writer but you still want participate, or if you are just a book lover, participating in the PugWords reader program is an awesome way to raise money and read amazing books. PugWords pledge forms for writers and readers will be available soon. Participants can collect pledges for pages written, and flat pledges are accepted too. Prior to the kickoff, we'll have book reviews and lists so you can make sure to stock up on great reading material. Then on October 12, it all begins! Read as much as you can in 7 days between October 12 and October 18. Books, short stories (including those written by those participating in the writer program, which you can find right here on this blog), webcomics, manga, fanfiction, anything and everything. Just make sure to actively keep track of your page count. We will have reading logs available here soon. You can submit book reviews and other bookish stuff to pugwords@gmail.com. Then, starting on October 19 after PugWords comes to a close, total your page numbers and collect your pledges! Make sure to send your pledge money in by November 5th so we can include you in our total and recognize you as an all around awesome person. More information on how to send in pledge money will be up on the blog soon.
